What happens when good robots go ‘bad’?

MSNBC is spot on with the hazards of robots in the home.

There are a number of great quotes in here.

  • “Robots may look like toys or appliances but they’re not”
  • "According to the study, a remotely controlled robot could be used to damage fragile objects (such as pushing them down a flight of stairs) or toss valuable items into the trash or the toilet. It could knock a bowl of grapes off the coffee table, presenting a choking hazard for a small child or even, under the control of an outsider, commit “robot suicide,” throwing itself down a flight of stairs or off a balcony." [By robotic standards, humans are fragile objects that could go down the stairs]
