Controllably Morphable

Ugh. What's worse than robots? Cleaning up robot goo once you finish off one of these Controllably Morphable buggers.

Big dog

How could I forget Boston Dynamics Big Dog? It sounds like a swarm of bees, warms the earth with the cool sounds of combustion, doesn't care if you kick it in the ribs and could easily kill you if someone got hold of a laser and screwdriver. Should be a favorite Christmas toy amongst evil dictators. But then again, evil dictators probably don't celebrate Christmas

robot videos

Before I get bogged down in new robotic horrors, I wanted to post some of the classic robot fear videos.

First is Daft Punk's Technologic video

Next, space has a terrible secret: "humans must be pushed." down the stairs. by robots

In case you are creeped out by the previous videos (and if you aren't, you are probably a robot), here's a lighthearted video on the death of all humans by robots.

Mister Squiggles unsafe

I think it is safe to say that staying away from anyone or anything named Mr. Squiggles is generally good advice, but the advice is particularly apt if Mr. Squiggles is a robotic hamster that is encouraged to be placed in close proximity to children. Oh, and additionally, Mr. Squiggles may contain unsafe limits of antimony.

Obama on Robots

Glad to see I'm not the only one concerned about robots. I'm not sure about this "Educate to Innovate" campaign if it supports robot work. Obama's quote on robots "I also want to keep an eye on those robots in case they try anything" is about 1:20 into the video below.

What happens when good robots go ‘bad’?

MSNBC is spot on with the hazards of robots in the home.

There are a number of great quotes in here.

  • “Robots may look like toys or appliances but they’re not”
  • "According to the study, a remotely controlled robot could be used to damage fragile objects (such as pushing them down a flight of stairs) or toss valuable items into the trash or the toilet. It could knock a bowl of grapes off the coffee table, presenting a choking hazard for a small child or even, under the control of an outsider, commit “robot suicide,” throwing itself down a flight of stairs or off a balcony." [By robotic standards, humans are fragile objects that could go down the stairs]

doombas

Concerned about the economy or health care? None of it may matter in the near future when these things are unleashed.

Welcome

A blog dedicated to robot awareness. Primarily to promote awareness that robots are evil, robots cannot be trusted, and robots will likely destroy more than they protect. This is well documented on the interwebs
